I ran my first creative writing workshop at The Maker's Studio, East Gosford on the 3rd March 2019. We had a fabulous day working with words - using timed exercises, prompts, a guided walk, images, and even food ( think watermelon and lemon!) to get the words and stories flowing on the page. We also explored other senses - playing classical music, inhaling lavender and sage as a way of tapping into memories and characters headspaces. In the second half of the workshop we explored the key elements of great story telling, including character, voice, setting and show don't tell. I was so impressed the stories that emerged on the day!
